Silver Bee Photography offers private one-on-one and small group mentoring and workshops for newborn posing photographers.
Mentoring is available to aspiring newborn photographers or seasoned photographers who would like to sharpen their skills. During the one or two day mentoring workshop, we will cover everything from setup, natural lighting, post-processing and business basics. Majority of the the time will be spent on fine tuning newborn poses and how to create the perfect setup. The two day mentoring allows for guided hands on posing and working with the newborn models. It is required to have basic knowledge of manual camera settings, including ISO, shutter speed and aperture and how they all work together. It is also recommended to bring a 50mm lens.
Our small group workshops are great for those who have some knowledge of photographing newborns but need more detail on transitioning, posing and working through the sessions from start to finish.
These workshops are kept small, 3-4 photographers, and during the sessions we will collaborate on setups, how to move from pose to pose, and most importantly how to keep baby happy during the sessions. Photographing newborns is a totally different ballgame. They need to be nurtured in different ways and every baby is different so it helps to learn many types of soothing techniques. If you have a group of photographers in your area that is interested in a small group workshop, we can talk about an opportunity for me to come to your city and teach.
In addition to learning how to photograph these tiny subjects, you will also receive info on my favorite vendors, marketing techniques and must haves to make sessions run smooth. And most importantly I am always happy to help or answer any questions beyond the workshop and mentoring.
**I am currently only accepting mentoring workshops for photographers outside of a 75 mile radius of Austin, TX**
My mentoring workshops have been featured in prominent news outlets including
“When I found Hillarry’s newborn photos on the internet I knew that I wanted to mentor with her. I love her style, colors, composition, and posing. I contacted her and we scheduled our 2 day one-on-one mentoring session. It was an amazing experience! She was so kind and patient when teaching me. I was able to work with 4 babies, two of them twins! Everything I know about newborn photography Hillarry taught me and I absolutely recommend her for photographers that want to specialize in this kind of photography”
“In my experience one-on-one or very small group was the best way to learn. This way we can focus on individuals and how to work with happy babies and happy clients!”-Hillarry
